Emma began her Intellectual Property (IP) career in IP Intelligence moving into IP Management following completion of her Masters in IP Management at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) as a Herschel-Smith scholar (Harvard-American Friends of Cambridge University). She is currently training to become a European Patent Attorney.
Emma has experience of technology transfer, in-house and most recently private practice handling a broad range of technologies from new chemical entities, pharmaceutical compositions, antibodies, peptide therapeutics and cell culture to active ingredient extraction, skincare, cosmetics, functional foods and nutritional supplements. She also handles medical devices, applicators and cosmetic packaging.
She deals with a wide variety of clients from private inventors, start-ups and university departments to larger multi nationals. With over 8 years’ experience in IP intelligence, due diligence, novelty and Freedom to Operate research for the commercial sector Emma has a wealth of experience in gearing patent searching to R&D needs and has presented on Freedom to Operate considerations in Germany. Over the last four years she has developed experience in IP workshops and training; IP process integration with R&D, IP and budgeting making her well placed to advise our clients looking to establish and develop their in-house IP practices.
Qualifications: BSc in Pharmacology; MSc in Drug Delivery; MSc in Intellectual Property
