Mary Rose O'Connor

MaryRose joined Cruickshank in 1989 and became a Partner in 1996. She is now the partner in charge of the Trade Mark practice at the firm. She holds a BA in Psychology and a MSc. from Queen Mary and Westfield College in the Management of Intellectual Property Law. She is a European and Irish Trade Mark Attorney.

MaryRose has extensive experience filing and prosecuting International, European and National Trade Marks, including handling matters from Trade Mark clearance to registration and enforcement, and in Trade Mark portfolio management, as well as the licensing and assignment of Trade Marks.

At Cruickshank, MaryRose represents clients from almost every field of industry. She has particular interest in the law relating to Trade Mark registration and has represented clients before the Patents Office in many contentious matters. Her interest in the area of IP had led her to become a member of the Association of Patent and Trade Mark Agents (where she has held many committee positions), the UK Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA), ECTA and the PTMG. She has also been a regular attendee of the International Trade Mark Association (INTA) and CITMA annual meetings for more than a decade.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts from University College Dublin; MSc. in Management of Intellectual Property, Queen Mary & Westfield College, London; European and Irish Trade Mark Attorney; Community Design Attorney.
